Tokyo: The US Olympic mixed relay team has been restored after being initially disqualified and will compete in the final on Saturday.
The team has been DQ for what the official said was illegal pass between Lynna Irby and Elija Godwin.
The US team appealed and restored and placed directly to the final.
The USA track and field does not provide detailed appeal reasons.
The decision can provide Allyson Felix the opportunity to win the record of the 10th Olympic medal.
He is currently tied with Jamaica Merlene Otey most for a female Olympic.
Felix ran for America and won gold when the event debuted in the world championship two years ago.
