New Delhi: Deepa Malik, President of the Indian Paralympics Committee (PCI) on Sunday congratulated Nishad Kumar to win the silver medal in a male high jump event in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics.
With a 2.06m leap, Kumar sealed a silver medal and also proceeded to make a record of Asia.
“Congratulations to Nishad for winning Super Silver and what performance, created a new Asian record and the best before.
After recovering from Covid-19 and starting in 2019.

The US Roderick Townsend won gold while Dallas Wise shared the second place with Nishad.
Townsend made a 2.15 m leap while Wise recorded a leap of 2.06 m.
Nishad and thoughtful both were finished with the same sign, but Nishad had crossed a 2.02 mark in his first attempt while Wise took two.
Chahar rampal India finished in fifth place with a leap of 1.94m.
Previously on that day, Indian table tennis player Bhavina won silver because he lost a gold medal match with Zhou Ying 3-0 in China – Grade 4 in Tokyo Paralympics on Sunday.
With this silver medal, Bhavina is the first table tennis player to win a medal in Paralympics for India and a second female athlete after PCI Head Deepa Malik to achieve this achievement.
Deepa has won silver in Rio 2016 on a woman’s shot.
