Tokyo: Soman Rana India Completed the fourth credited in the men’s shot placed the F57 event while Kashish Lakra and Ekta Bhyan ended on the sixth and eighth of each at a F51 Final F51 club in the paralympics on Friday.
The 38-year-old shutter produced the best 13.81 m throw in his first attempt and it was enough for the fourth place to finish in a strong field.
Even the best personal (14.61m) may not be enough for him to win a medal.
The Brazilian world record holder and ruled the world champion Thiago Paulino Dos Santos took gold with the best 15.10m throws.
His world record still stands at 15.26m.
But he fixed the 14.42m paralympic record which was previously on behalf of Goshan Wun, champion Rio Paralympics 2012 Champion China, who took silver on Friday with the best 15m throws.
Borges Marco Aurelio Brazilians won bronze with the best effort of 14.85 million.
Athletes that meet one or more of the minimum disability criteria (MDC) for muscle power disorders, legal deficiencies, passive movement range disorders and differences in foot length, which are not in accordance with the profile described earlier, competing in F57 class.
At a female club throwing the F51 event, Lakra and Bhyan produced their best season efforts at 12.66m and 8.38 m but enough for the sixth place and eighth respectively.
The eighth athlete competes in the final.
Ukraine Zoia Ovsii (25.12m), American Cassie Mitchell (24.18m) and Elena Gorlova (24.08m) from the Russian Paralympic Committee won each gold, silver and bronze.
In the F51 classification, athletes use slightly decreasing to the full muscle strength on the shoulders, elbow flexors, and extensor wrists to throw implants.
Triceps muscles are not functioning and may not exist.
Muscle strength in baggage does not exist.
Equipment grasp is difficult because of non-functional finger flexor.
Hands that do not throw usually need a binder to the support bar.
