India sent its largest contingent of 54 athletes in as many as nine sporting disciplines in the game.
Badminton and Taekwondo made their debut in Tokyo, both represented by India.
Since making its first appearance at the Paralympics in 1968, India has won 12 medals in total until the issue of Rio 2016.
This country has now increased massively in whole numbers with 7 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020 alone.
Of the total of 162 countries, India had finished 24th in the overall medal tally, while the achievement of 19 medals is ranked 20th based on the number of medals.
