Tokyo: The Olympic torch relay was canceled on the public road to Tokyo, officials announced on Wednesday, because the worries of the virus continued to disturb the game for only two weeks before they began.
The private fire lighting ceremony will replace the public relay event in all capital starting on Friday, the Tokyo City Government said.
Until the opening ceremony on July 23, the torch event will be channeled online, with the authorities urging the audience to watch them “in the comfort of your home”.

Only relay feet in Ogasawara Islands – Remote Islands are around 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) south of Tokyo – will continue on schedule.
The national torch relay has been full of problems since it began in March, with almost half the legs disturbed in several ways.
Relations are forced from public roads in famous tourist cities such as Kyoto and Hiroshima because of fear that fans can spread viruses.
And it also met with several public opposition, with a 53-year-old woman who was arrested on Sundays because of spraying runners with fluid from the water gun.

The organizer of the freemmy has not yet settled how many domestic fans can attend a postponed match, and has warned that events can be held behind closed doors.
Fans of foreign countries have been banned.
The government is this week expanding to expand anti-virus steps in Tokyo and elsewhere, with decisions about Olympic fans to be followed.
