Pune: The Chakan police on Wednesday registered a case against a young man about the accusation of attacking a 40-year-old man with brick, after the last objected to smoking at the grocery store in Khed.
The victim of Mukesh Shah, who suffered four stitches to his head in the attack, on Wednesday night filed a complaint to the police Chakan.
Shah told the Toi that on Wednesday night, he went to the grocery store to buy milk.
“I noticed the young smoking in the shop.
When I asked him not to smoke there, he began to abuse me,” Shah said, adding that the defendant tried to attack him in the store, even threatening to burn the shop.
Shah added, “At this point, another person in the shop caught the young man.
He went out of the shop, and I followed him to try and talk to him.
Suddenly, he took a brick and hit him in my head.
When young people began to escape , I chased him, but I lost balance and fell.
I also suffered an injury to my mouth.
“Police Chakan has registered a case against young people below 323 and 324 (voluntarily causing injury or dangerous means) from the Indian KUHP (IPC).
