Gurgaon: Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway watched long traffic snarls for the second consecutive day on Thursday because heavy barricades took effect by Delhi police at the Sirhaul border to prevent the entry of commercial vehicles without RFID tags into the capital.
While the traffic police stated that stretching did not see chaos like Wednesday, commuters complained about being trapped in tailbacks.
Ankur Singh, a commuter, said, “For the second time in two days, I was trapped in congestion on this stretch.
There was a heavy police check that caused congestion.
It was not as well as Wednesday but the traffic was held.
There are too many barricades on the side Delhi so that traffic from Gurgaon is thus squeezed, and these barbes and toll examinations make it worse.
“On Wednesday, the toll road saw a massive congestion because the SDMC made a toll tax through a mandatory RFID tag for commercial vehicles entering Delhi.
Because a large number of vehicles without tags and toll road holders issued the same thing on the spot, all toll roads see Gridlock until late at night.
However, the traffic police said the situation was better than Wednesday and only a slight slowdown considered.
DCP (Traffic) Gurgaon Police, Ravinder Singh Tomar, said, “We have asked Delhi police to ensure that the collection of SDMC toll roads does not interfere with traffic movements.
They have agreed to work with us and ensure that traffic runs smoothly.
On On Thursday, there was no traffic congestion witnessed.
“While Gurgaon police denied the situation such as jam, Delhi traffic police told toi that the Toll concession holder, in fact, intensified their examination, which led to congestion on stretching.
