Dean came from behind at the last 50M to touch a new national record of 1 minute 44.22sec, with Scott took silver (1: 44.26) ahead of Scheffer Fernando Brazil (1: 44.66).

“Massive credit for Tom there, it’s amazing,” Scott said.
