Hyderabad: Sending a violent warning to drug consumers in the city, the police have arrested nine people, including seven cocaine consumers and Nigerian donkey sellers based in Mumbai.
The majority of consumers arrested comes from rich families and one of them, who run a 1,000 crore RS business, reportedly buying drugs from suppliers 30 times over the past few years.
In the past, various law enforcement agencies had arrested drug consumers, so far Hyderabad police mainly focused on donkey sellers.
However, the Sleuth task force goes beyond the regular path and catches seven drug consumers and their two employees.
“We have discussed with legal experts, psychologists, and sociologists about narcotics problems and decided to arrest even consumers,” said Police Commissioner Hyderabad CV Anand.
