Dubai: A top Taliban official has met with a previous Qatar official reported leaving the country for Afghanistan.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar met with Foreign Minister Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Tuesday.
A statement said both “review the latest security and political developments in Afghanistan, emphasizing the need for civilian protection, intensifying the efforts needed to achieve national reconciliation, working for comprehensive political settlements and peaceful power transfers.”
