Topographic surveys for the ER network are running in Haveri

Haveri: Haveri Zilla Panchayat (ZP) seems to have recorded the problem, from the lack of efficient drainage networks in the village, and has started the construction of the drainage network, the total length will be 300 km.
The work on this project will be carried out under the umbrella of the National Rural Employment Assurance Scheme Mahatma Gandhi (MGNREG).
Before construction began on a drainage network, topographic surveys were carried out in the district villages.
Surveys are recommended by ZP after defects are detected in the existing channel.
The findings of the survey will help streamline the waste flow, and ensure separation is carried out efficiently.
This will have additional benefits to ensure that water supply is not contaminated to the village.
The authorities have completed the survey, which has so far covered 714 villages under the jurisdiction of 218 grams of Panchayats.Haveri Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Roshan said that the first Greywater Management Project has been implemented in Kodibennur Village in Ranebennur Taluk.
“This project is an initiative carried out naturally without using any machine.
The water recycled by the Greywater system joins the Tungabhadra River.
The water is naturally purified,” Roshan said, who ordered topographic surveys throughout the village after the success of the initiative in Kodiyal.
Saying that the sewer was built in a ‘unscientific’ way in most villages, with gravitational levels never became checked before construction.
“The waste disposal has not flowed as it should, impact on the health of residents, and dry cash.
So, we decided to conduct a topographic survey, which has been completed in 714 villages.
We have built a network of drainage in 43 villages, where the waste flow has been simplified, “CEO ZP said.
Panchayat development officers said that the waterways, built using data from surveys, was much easier to maintain.
“Most of these sewers have never been clogged,” he said.
“Now, ZP has initiated this survey, which has helped ensure the construction of waterways at the right level, thanks to the efforts of CEO of ZP Mohammad Roshan,” he said.
