KABUL: Torkham border intersection point that connects Afghanistan and Pakistan has been reopened and those who have travel documents can cross it, Abdul Qaahar Balki, spokesman for foreign ministry, said.
“Torkham gate is reopened and the Afghans have a passport and Pakistani visa can cross the border,” Balki said on his Twitter account.
The reopening of Torkham Crossing Point was announced after the visit of Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who visited Kabul on Thursday.
During a one-day visit of Qureshi to the capital of Afghanistan Kabul and his meeting with officials here, matters relating to shared interest included reopening the border intersection and increase trade and economic cooperation discussed, according to local media reports.
