Gurugram: The first ‘wheat ATM’ in the country has been established in the area of ​​Farrukhnagar City, and can issue up to 70 kg of grains in five to seven minutes at a time, said Deputy Minister Dusyant Chautala when launching facility Wednesday.
This machine is equipped with a biometric system with a touch screen where the recipient must insert aadhaar card or a ration card number.
After authentication, the foodgrain allocated by the state government for the recipient will automatically be filled with bags stored under the machine.
This machine, said an official, works like a bank ATM and will be installed under the UN World Food Program throughout the state.
This is called a pale multi-commodity grain automatic machine.
The pilot project, according to the Minister, has been launched as part of the state government initiative to ensure food supplies.
Chautala, who also holds the Portfolio of the Department of Food and Civil Equipment, said that with the installation of ‘ATM Grain’, all complaints at the time and measurement of proper rations will be handled in the state.
“This is the country’s first wheat ATM.
After successfully completing this pilot project at Farrukhnagar in Gurugram, our plan is to install this food supply machine in government depots throughout the state.
The purpose of installing this machine is to ensure that the right amount of ration reaches Benefits.
This will not only benefit consumers but will also improve complaints in the lack of food grains in government depots.
It will also help ensure more transparency in the public food distribution system and save time depot operators, “he said.
Three types of grains – wheat, rice, and millet – will be distributed through the machine.
At present, wheat is being distributed through the grain ATM installed in Farrukhnagar.
