Chandigarh: By campaigning even for the Selection of the State Assembly in full Gusto, Covid-19 testing is in a decrease in punjab.
The election of 117 assembly constituency is scheduled to be held on February 20.
In the past two weeks, counts of new cases have declined and have testing numbers in the state.
The percentage of testing fell 25% in the last seven days compared to two weeks ago.
Not only that, the test rate in nearly 67% of districts slipped under the test of the average country per million populations.
A total of 2,79,560 individuals were tested over a seven-day period between 18 to 24 January.
The weekly test counts fell to 2,46,974 in the following week from 25-31 January and further to 2.11,907 in the week ended in February 7.
Of the 14 districts testing less than the country’s average, peposititivity testing in six districts is far more Height rather than the state-weekly front rate of 5.88%.
In the Bathinda District, where only 646 tests per million were carried out, had the highest level of 12.56% for the past seven days.
With a level of participation of 10.71%, Ropar emerged as the second worst performing district which had a level of participation more than the average country.
Other districts that record higher participants, including Fazilka (7.34%), Faridkot (7.36%) and Muktsar (5.91%).
With a very transmitted omikron into a variant that most dominated concerns in the state, a decline in testing in a large number of districts ahead of the election, especially when the polling related activities were in full swing, had made experts worry.
Even when there are limitation campaigns, politicians and their supporters can be seen firmly violating the Covid protocol without social distance while only a handful is seen wearing a mask.
Immunity Evader Omicron is at 69.82% of the five sampled batches last sorted in government medical colleges in Patiala.
Dr.
Paramjit Mann, President of Punjab Chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), said when Omicron more than five times more contagious than Delta, the government and people cannot continue.
“The government needs to test as much as possible so that infected people can be identified and preciously isolated.
Every election period can cause the resurrection of the case,” warn Dr.
Mann.
Punjab has the capacity of conducting 45,600 transcription polymerase chain reaction tests (RT-PCR) per day, where more than 99% are carried out in seven institutions managed by the state government.
In addition to conventional RT-PCR tests, which are considered to be a gold standard, the fast antigen testing method is also used for screening purposes.
