Chandigarh: The day after snapping a 50-year relationship with Congress, former Minister of Punjab Joglinder Singh Mann joined the AAM AADMI party on Saturday.
The leader of AAP and Punjab Co-incharge Raghav Chadha said that Mann’s induction would provide a big boost for the party in the state.
“Inspired by the vision of Arvind Ji, former Minister of Punjab cabinet and three times Mla Joglinder Singh Mann Ji joined AAP who ended his relationship with a 50-year-old Congress.
He is currently the Chair of the Punjab Agro Industries Corp.” Chadha said in a tweet and also posted a photo featuring Mann joining AAP in front of the National Convenal Party’s Arvind KeRriwal.
A leader from the Scheduled Castle Community, Mann was more annoyed with the Congress for “There was no action” of the alleged fraudulent multi-matrix and non-granting status of multi-matrix scholarships for Phagwara.
He resigned from Congress and as Chair of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation.
In an emotional letter to the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi, three times MLA from Phagwara, who served as a minister in the cabinet, including Singh beans, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Amarinder Singh, said he had a dream that would die as a member of Congress.
“But with Congress patronizing the post-matrix scholarship scheme, my conscience does not allow me to stay here,” he said.
Voting for assembly chairs 117 Punjab will be held on February 14 and the results will be stated on March 10 (with input from pti)
