New Delhi: Indian and Chinese soldiers exchanged new year greetings and candies in 10 places along the actual control line (LAC) on Saturday, including “Friction Points” in East Ladakh, ahead of the 14th corps commander talks later this month In another effort to relieve military confrontation for 20 months.
“The local commander maintains their regular and custom interactions with their colleagues from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
It serves to maintain tensions along the border, while diplomatic and high-level military talks take place to solve extraordinary problems,” an officer said Senior military.
Indian soldiers, according to tradition, are also presented for Pakistani soldiers in several places along the control line (LOC) on Saturday.
But the interaction with PLA is more important because the exchange of candy also occurs in the “main friction points” in East Ladakh, including the “bottleneck” area in the Department of Plains which are strategically located and in Demachok.
Other places are Karakoram Pass, Daulat begged Oldie, Kongka La and Chushul-Moldo in East Ladakh.
Similar interactions occurred in the LAC sectors 3,488 km, including Nathu LA and Konggras La in Sikkim and Bum La and Wacha peace in Arunachal Pradesh.
