New Delhi: After more than 400 staff worked with Lok Sabha and the Sabha’s Rajya secretariat and from allied services tested positive for Covid-19 in the past few days, the Sabha’s Rajya Secretariat had included several restrictions on the presence of employees.
According to sources, 65 staff of the Sabha’s Rajya Secretariat, 200 Secretariat Lok Sabha and 133 allied services have tested positive Covid-19 during last week.
The latest direction determines that 50% of officials and staff under the rank under the secretary and executive will work from home until the end of this month.
They are around 65% of total employees.
Those who are disabled and pregnant women have been released from offices.
In addition, the initial time and closure of the secretariat had staggered to avoid crowding and all official meetings would be held virtually.
The source of Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiiah Naidu has directed that all officials and staff of more than 1,300 must be tested for Corona and infected recovery must be monitored and assisted in hospitalization and treatment if needed.
He has also directed monitoring and routine reviews of the situation.
Naidu will review the situation every week.
Development came a few days before the parliamentary budget session, which usually began at the end of January.
Officials said Naidu had also directed that steps were taken to contain the spread of the virus among secretariat officials and staff in front of the budget session.
Around the recent circle, the Secretariat Lok Sabha also said 50% of officers below the secretary level below would attend the office with rotation as decided by their respective directors.
Working hours from all employees who attend the office on a certain day have staggered between 10am and 10:30 with the appropriate office timings to avoid rushing in the course and corridors.
