PATIALA: Ahead of the election of February 20 assembly in Punjab, 2,718 cases of liquor confiscated from the houses of liquor license holders and their partners in Patiala on Saturday.
Liquor has been stored illegally.
Seizures are made in joint operations between the State Excise Ministry and Patiala Police.
The Excise Ministry first look for the place for retail liquor license holders, Manju Singla, in Patiala.
The authorities claimed that they got a tip-off of Manju to store liquor illegally at the residential property at Gate Lahori in Patiala.
Liquor who seized 428 bottles of liquor without a hologram, 1,009 beer cases, 493 cases of PML whiskey, and 1180 IMFL whiskey cases.
The Excise Ministry has registered a case against three people at the Gate Lahori Police Station.
All operations were carried out under the commissioner of Excise Rajat Agarwal, Patiala SSP Sandeep Garg, Commissioner of Joint (Excise) Naresh Dubey, AIG.
(Excise) Harmet Singh Hundal, Patia Zone Excise Deputy Commissioner Rajpal Khaira, SP (City) Harpal Singh, and others.
Agarwal said the department has tightened noose around people involved in smuggling and selling paid liquor without assignments.
