Tokyo: Toyota Motor Co on Friday expanded production termination in several factories in Japan due to lack of components sent from factory parts in Southeast Asia.
Stop the latest will cut the car output of 9,000 vehicles when added to Curbs announced on Thursday, affect the production of the Lexus and Land Cruiser model of four wheel drivers, Toyota said in a press release.
Although limited, cutting came when Toyota tried to redeem the production lost to previous supply chain disorders in Malaysia and Vietnam which forced to cut vehicle output even because of demand for cars in the market such as China rebounded as Coronavirus Lockdowns ended.
The largest car manufacturer in the world based on the volume said it was holding on to the annual production target set in September to build 9 million vehicles at the end of March.
“We want to maintain 9 million units, but we will pay attention to the situation,” said a Toyota spokesman.
