Traders Chalai to get training in a fire battle

Thiruvananthapuram: The Fire Department will provide the first fire betaying training for traders from the Chalai market to hold fire outbreaks at the initial stage itself and thus reduce damage.
The decision in this case was taken during a merchant meeting and officer Thiruvananthapuram firefighting stations to discuss steps to improve Chalai market security, which are very susceptible to fire outbreaks that often occur.
The meeting was organized by officers of the Thiruvananthapuram Sajith S T and Nithin Raj under the direction of the Fire Extinguisher Director B Sandhya.
According to officers, the plan is to form a group of volunteers rescue the community among traders and gave them training in the first aid fire battle.
Firefighters Thiruvananthapuram Nithin Raj said that firefighters had divided the Chalai market, which consisted of several roads, to seven zones.
The plan is to form a group of community rescue volunteers in each zone with each group consisting of at least 20 members.
The first aid fire battle involves fire blackouts at the initial stage using any means available.
This training involves basic awareness about various categories of fire based on the cause and using the method that suits it to extinguish the fire.
During the meeting on Saturday, topics such as the steps to be taken to prevent the potential of fire outbreaks, changes to be carried in the building, scientific parking method to facilitate fine movement of fire fighting vehicles and set up hydrants in strategic locations throughout the market.

The traders who attended the meeting emphasized the need to implement the government’s decision to establish firefighting stations in Chalai without further delay.
