Pune: Traders in the city have said that the store closure at 4pm will lead to 40% of the decline in business and urge the authorities to allow them to function from 11:00 to 19:00.
They begged revisions in timings because most customers come to shop at night, and request citizenship administration and state government to enable them to operate on weekends.
Monday is the first day of new enforcement, the mandates of the shops are important and not essential to function up to 16:00 and fully closure of non-essential shops on weekends.
Most of the shop owners lowered their leaves on 4pm.
Viraj Shah, a cloth trader from Ravivar Peth, said, “We will lose around 40% to 50% of businesses, with three-hour descendants in timings.
This is because customers do not like to shop on weekdays in the morning, when they exit most for Buy wholesale goods, vegetables and kitchen-related items.
For unimportant items, the suitable time for customers is the night or post-lunch.
The government needs to allow stores that are not important to function late at night.
” Sandesh Solanki, who runs a jewelry shop, said, “We were allowed to open the store at 7am but why customers will appear at 7am or even at 9am to buy jewelry.
Shops must be allowed to open for several hours at night days.
It will also prevent unnecessary rushes in the market.
“Pitaliya Mahendra from the Federation of Pune Trade Association said the business had dropped and the pedagers Ang facing losses due to restrictions.
“Previously, shops were used to function almost for 12 hours to 9pm.
But now they are forced to operate on strange hours that are not suitable for business and customers.
We urge the authorities to introduce some changes in the timing at least store -Toko that is not important, “he said.
Meanwhile, traders also said that administration must hold vaccination drives for them.
“We have urged the government of citizenship and state government to hold a special drive for traders, but requests have not been fulfilled so far,” said the Federation Office of the Pune Trade Association Office.
