Rajkot: The 38-year-old trader in Halvad City in the Morbi district filed a complaint of extortion of Rs 90 Lakh against Yashpalsinh Zala which was suspected of demanding the money to run a shop in the city.
According to police Halvad, Janak Chauhan, Park Vasant Resident in Halvad City Morbi district, is a trader who has a shop in the Agricultural Product Market Committee (APMC) in Halvad.
In his complaint, Chauhan stated that Zala, a resident of Kondh Village in Dhrangdhra Taluka from Surendranagar Regency, had come to his shop on August 3 and threatened him that if he wanted to run a shop, he needed to pay Rs 90 lakh at extortion.
Police Halvad filed complaints and launched a hunt for the defendant.
