Traders yet to get shops after 7 years, protest at Ansal Hub

Gurgaon: A group of owners staged a protest on Sunday over the delay in possession of their shops in Ansal Hub, a commercial complex, in Sector 83.
The agitated buyers gathered at the site holding banners and raised slogans against the developer demanding early completion of the project.
Around 500 buyers have invested in the project which was launched in 2010 which comprises retail shops, eateries and office spaces.
According to the buyers, the possession was promised in 2014, however, the developer has not fulfilled his promise till now.
They claimed that most of them have already paid 95% amount for the property.
Anil Sachdeva, one of the buyers, said, “I had booked my shops in 2010 and was promised the possession in 2014.
Hardly 10-15 people are working at the site without any supervision.
Despite paying 95% of the total amount by 2015, the project has not been delivered yet.
It seems like the developers have abandoned the project leaving us in the lurch.” They alleged that despite numerous complaints to the concerned department, nothing has been done to resolve their grievances.
Gaurav Kalra, a buyer said, “In the last two years, there has been very slow development in the project and every time we asked the developer about the progress all we got was false assurances.
Over Rs 250 crore have been deposited by us to the developer but so far only 70% of work has been completed.” When contacted, the representative of the developer said that the reason for delay was the lockdown due to Covid-19.
“Labour migration accentuated this delay and even now, labour is an issue.
We are trying our best to find a solution and we will convene a meeting with the buyers in coming weeks where we will discuss and provide them with a new timeline,” said Ranjita Krishna, senior general manager (marketing), Ansal Housing Limited.
