Ghaziabad: Beyond the limit for traffic to the national capital since the last week of November 2020, Delhi-Meerut Expressway is ready to return to Normycy on Thursday morning with the last batch protesting farmers who departed and the police began to dismantle multi-barricades.
An Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI) told Ti on Wednesday night the higher the part of Delhi-Meerut Expressway and NH-9 on the border of the ghazipur will be open to regular traffic at midnight.
“We send officials to the place below who the barikade guidance has been removed from the high part,” said Arvind Kumar, an NHAI official.
“We immediately started cleaning the places of large stones and dust.
Ghaziabad to the DME side will be opened for traffic around midnight,” Kumar added.

Meanwhile Ghaziabad police, began to remove barricades near Khoda.
“Barrikada is placed to limit the vehicle to the top of the gate.
They are being removed and we have placed personnel to guide commuter to the DME part that they have not used for a year,” said Ramanand Kushwaha, Traffic SP.
