Thiruvananthapuram: A sub-inspector attached to the city traffic police station was detained by medical college police on Sunday night because it was allegedly driving a car under the influence of alcohol and caused an accident.
Anilkumar is the officer detained.
According to sources, Anilkumar lost control of the car and crashed into several two-wheeled vehicles parked next to the road in front of the Cosmo hospital in Murinjapalam near Pattom on Sunday night.
People accused that there was an attempt from the police to save the officers because he was immediately taken away from the place.
After this, people protested outside the police station demanded a medical examination when they suspected he was drunk while driving.
On late at night, the police took him to the hospital for medical examinations.
