Traffic Police Surveys for Metro DPR

Detailed project reports include two stretches: Kempapa-net to JP Nagar Phase 4th (32.16 km) & Magadi Street from Hosokalli Metro Station to Kadabagere (12.82 km)
Government consulting company Rite Ltd has completed preparation for detailed project reports (DPR) for Phase III Project Namma Metro except the traffic survey component.
The consultant cannot arrive at the Financial Financial Return (FIRR) formula to assess the feasibility of the project because of the low traffic in the city because of a pandemic.
Officials, however, said they could consider pre-covid traffic reports and did not wait for normal traffic back.
On November 12 last year, Bangalore Mirror reported that the ceremony was assigned to the responsibility of preparing the DPR, the first step towards the implementation of the next phase of the Metro project.
The consultant believes in completing a report in six months, but the current pandemic situation has delayed the finalization of the report, said the source.
The company is said to have completed around 75 percent of work.

The initial scope of work involved the preparation of the DPR for two stretches such as the west of Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Kempapa to the 4th phase of JP Nagar covering 32.16 km and Jalan Magadi Line from the Hosokalli Metro Station to Kadabagere (12.82 km ).
The Chairman of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai, during the inauguration of the Kengeri Metro line on Sunday, also announced the extension of the Metro line to Ramanagara and the Metro Line separated to Rajananke.
BMRCL officials said they would write to the head of the minister’s head (CMO) for clarity in connection with the announcement of two new lines.
“We will not wait for normal traffic back because it can take a long time.
We are considering extrapolation of pre-covid traffic data and arriving at the decision on whether the Metro line is decent economically or not,” said a senior BMRCL official.
Metro Phase-III received the Wayat Rite at least twice in the past, Rite Ltd has conducted a feasibility study for the third phase of Metro Namma.
As per the current BMRCL plan, phase III will be the smallest of Phase I and Phase II when it comes to the total length of the Metro.
Because the rite is involved in preparation for the feasibility study of at least twice in the past, consulting companies already have traffic data to study the potential for the shown at JP Nagar 32-16 km and the Magadi road corridor 12.82 km.
However, experts argue that extending the metro path to neighboring cities will waste resources.
“The revelary of the state government must focus on increasing the train infrastructure that is currently there.
It takes at least one and a half hours to cover the distance from the city to Ramanagara by train.
This can be reduced to 45 minutes if funds are provided to build automatic block signaling and the elimination of the level junction , “said Urbanev Sanjeev Dyamannavar.
He said taking the Metro line to neighboring cities would not only spend a long time to complete but the project would not be financially sustainable.
