Traffic violations: GHMC sits on e-challans for YRS

Hyderabad: While police and transportation officials have increased enforcement to increase the level of e-challan compliance in the city, many Senior GHMC officials have not yet cleared the traffic violations on their vehicles waiting for years.
The search plate search on the E-Challan Polda Telangana website shows that some GHMC officials owe thousands of rupees to fine.
For example, the Director of Enforcement of the GHMC VISWARJIT OFFICIAL KOKATI (TS 09 FA 9295) has 14 challans that are delayed with a total of RS 13,790 and the oldest of September 11, 2018.
Challans include 11 excess speeds / one driving violation, two sides of driving and one stopline violation.
Other vehicles (TS 09 FA 9746) are allocated for the Administrative Commissioner Additional wing has 20 Challans waiting for Rs 16,300, with the oldest challengers from August 31, 2018.
Fourteen of the 20 Challan was issued for excess speed, five of them violations of Stopline and one Related to locking violations.
In a certain example, the police have sent legal notices to have Challans waiting for more than five years.
For example, vehicles (AP 29 BC 9763), which are currently used by officers about the Special Duty (OSD) Anuradha, which leads to the Covid-19 control room, has 22 challasts of Rs 9,770.
The oldest Challan happens to be a jump signal originating from 2012.
A total of six legal notices have been published against the SUV.
GHMC has 660 vehicles that include Fortuner, 25 Innovas, 24 Scorpios, 60 vehicles such as Boleros and LMV.
According to official guidelines, vehicles should be used in the GHMC jurisdiction for field visits and other official work.
However, some e-challsan was issued for official vehicles outside the GHMC limit such as Gajwel, Jadcherla and Madipalli City, showed that they were used arbitrarily for personal use.
“In October 2021, the Minister of Administration KT Rama Rao had praised the traffic sub-inspectors to punish the vehicle for violating the rules.
If the leaders send compliance messages, why the officials cannot follow that,” said the city-based social activist.
Daga said.
While officials were not available for comments, several officials under anonymous conditions referred to that a large number of Challans were issued for excess speed.
“The speed limit on the bund tank is very low and even ordinary people make Challan released while traveling there.
There is a need to revise the speed limit in several places,” said a senior official.
