Train Mishaps Halve in Maharashtra, but State is still first on the list

Mumbai: Maharashtra records the highest number of accidents and deaths on the train by 2020, for the second year in a row, according to data issued by the National Crime Note Bureau (NCRB).
But the silver layer from a pandemic induced lock is that the train accident declined half in the country – from 6,338 in 2019 to 2,697 in 2020.
Most of the crashes on the railroad were caused during the running track.
Crash Road also decreased by 21% in the locking year from 57,228 in 2019 to 45,484.
Maharashtra did better than five other states, including Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, recorded the lower road crash.
But the country’s performance slipped to where he came to the path of road, second place in this country with 12,018 deaths.
Police Commissioner Mumbai Quaiser Khalid Railway said across traces did not always run out of habits.
“Many of those who lost their lives from being torn down by trains are professionals who work for those who reach their workplace on time are a must.
The closest bridge or subway can be a few meters away which encourages them to take short pieces across the track.
The train must analyze where demand is the highest and build new passenger infrastructure at the time, “he said.
Shivaji’s central train spokesman Sutar said they had an ongoing program to build the boundary wall beside the track, more lifts, escalators and FOBs at the station and between stations.
Joint surveys have been made to identify spots where compound walls are damaged by commuters to continue the crossing track.
But activists said that once the damaged wall was repaired, the survey could not stop.
To collect scientific evidence about the location where the train hit is reported more often, the police have started using software that captures the coordinates.
They have submitted a train petition to add a camera on the external side of the Motorman cabin so that the time and causes of accidents are captured accurately.
“We have also suggested to the train that insurance cover is offered to every commuter who buys season tickets so that the dependents can claim compensation in the recognition of fatality,” Khalid added.
Among the road crashes, the NCRB report showed that more deaths were reported in the rural areas of Maharashtra (8,121) compared to urban areas (3,897) last year.
Avinash Dhakne State Transport Commissioner said crashes occur usually at the entry point and out of the villages.
“Crash in Maharashtra witnessed more in Tertwo and Tier-three cities and their outskirts where there was road expansion, but there was no compliance with safe speed.
There was a burst in the sale of cars and bikes throughout the state, but the road network was not designed For safe movements.
We need to map all deaths on GIS and find areas with a concentration of crashes that require road safety audits and design interventions, “said Amit Bhatt from WRI non-profit.
The majority of violators and victims of the road crash last year were motorbike riders, according to the NCRB report.
Dhakne said there was a need to create a strong emergency care system and an emphasis on the use of helmets to reduce death.
This report also shows the maximum road crash is reported for 6pm to 9pm.
“When public transportation stops in Kuncian, people use more personal transportation.
These vehicles are involved more in crashes, accelerate to be the main cause,” said AddL DG (country traffic) Bhushan Upadhyaya.
