JAMSHEDPUR: Of the 800 samples tested at the Tatanagar station, 120 became positive for Covid-19 on Monday to noon and they were taken to MGMMC which is managed by the government in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The source says that they with mild symptoms will be sent home and the others will shift to the Covid ward from various hospitals.
Tapan Kumar Mandal, who is responsible for the health team at the station, said that the number of cases will increase further because more trains stop at the station later on.
On Sunday, around 2,000 passengers were tested at Tananagar Station where 83 was found positive.
The total number of positive Covid in the district was 621 on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Health’s source, 1,218 on the same day recovered and returned home from various hospitals.
The source also said three covid related deaths were reported on Sundays.
Records point that most of Covid’s positive in Jamshedpur is those who come here by train or road from other places.
The government checks posts in various places which are the entry point into the steel city.
In many places, non-functional thermal weapons are replaced and existing officials are directed to be more alert.
The medical brotherhood here has shown that the government must be equipped with more vaccines because many senior citizens will complete their nine months gaps and will look for a booster dose.
Former doctor Mgmmch, Dr.
Anita Banerjee said more centers must be opened for senior citizens for a booster dose.
He said more vaccines were needed along with the medical team to investigate beneficiaries.
