Train service was hit as a asst tipsy station teacher sleeping

Kanpur: The train service was disturbed on the Delhi-Howrah route under the North Railroad Division for about one and a half hours on Wednesday night after the teacher’s assistant was allegedly drunk and fell asleep while on duty.
As a result, important trains such as Vaishali Express, Sangam Express, Farakka and Magadh Express besides several other freight trains were stranded at various stations.
Asm Kanchausi Aniruddh Kumar did not respond to repetitive calls from his senior, forcing them to rush to the train station, which came under the NCR division in the Auraiya district.
According to Vishambhar Dayal, Master Auraiya Station, his junior was found to sleep in his office allegedly after consuming liquor.
A chargesheet has been prepared and ASM has been suspended, he said, adding that the investigation had been ordered to the incident.
The NCR authority said ASM was sent to the train hospital in Tundla for medical examinations.
“The Master of Assistant Station has been sent to Tuntla for a medical examination to ascertain whether he was drunk.
However, especially, he was found to sleep,” said a senior railroad official.
Because of this, the Delhi-Howrah Rail route was hit from 12:10 am to 1.30 in the morning.
“The restored route only after 2am,” Dayal said.
