Train to develop 500 multi-capital cargo terminals in 5 years with an investment of RS 50,000 Crore: Minister of Railway Union Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi: The Indian train has set a target to develop around 500 new multi-capital cargo terminals under the Gati Shakti PM Program with an investment of around Rs 50,000 Crore in the next five years, Ashwini Vaishnaw Railway Minister said on Thursday.
He said there would be a multi-capital passenger terminal with complete and smooth integration of all modes of transportation.
Speaking to reporters, Vaishnaw said they hoped to complete the development of 200 multi-capital cargo terminals in the next three years.
This will increase the transport of bulk cargo by the train, which is the biggest source of income for national transporters.
He said the plan details would come out in the near future.
“There is a clear focus to provide new direction to the construction of infrastructure and logistics movements in the country under the Gati Shakti program.
The aim is to reduce logistics costs, which is around 13% of GDP.
Reduction of logistics costs will bring competition and will also reduce costs, “He said.
The minister said one of the main contributions of the train would integrate the laying of the fiber network along the railway line.
“From now on and so on, all of our planning and execution will have a multi-capital approach,” he added.
