Training for blind teachers

Thiruvananthapuram: Participants in the ongoing training program for blind teachers in the G-Suite hope to expand the opportunities of interaction with students.
This program is initiated by kites (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education).
About 65 teachers from higher elementary schools than this district participated in the training program.
Training is done through screen reading software.
Data will be converted into sound with the help of orca software.
Teachers with visual disorders will be able to overcome their limits by using this software.
“As a result of a pandemic, the school adopts a hybrid approach to education, which includes online and offline components.
As a result, a visually disturbed teacher must be familiar with the application.
65 Teachers are divided into six groups.
The two groups will attend training sessions every day.
This training will make it easier for them to use the G-Suit platform for students, “Sophiya S said, Master Trainer in the kite.
“It is usually difficult for teachers who are visually disturbed to interact with students during the online class.
So, this is the solution to it.
This is a screen reading technology.
Teachers who are disrupted visually can use this technology with help assistance software,” said Vinod B, Master Trainer and a teacher at the government school for blind, Vazhuthaud.
The teachers who attended the program said they would greatly benefit them.
“I used to make a phone call to my students when the limitations of the pandemic hit the blind teacher so hard.
Then we started using Whatsapp and Telegram.
I was worried about the difficulty in using the G-Suit, but this training helped us learn quickly.
This will help us give.
Information to different students.
It is difficult for us to check whatsapp when students send their academic works individually, “said Smitha Shyamgiri, a teacher who participated in the training.
