Mumbai: The 30-year-old person from the transgender community is suspected brutally killed by other members of the community above the place of beggars on the outskirts of Borivali, police said on Thursday.
Pradip alias Prachi was allegedly attacked and killed by Payal Shinde and Naresh Thapa on Wednesday, following a fight for beggars in Sudhir Phadke Chowk, an official said.
One of the accused of attacking the victim with a sharp weapon, killed him in place, he said, adding that the victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The defendant’s duo was arrested in the relevant part of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and sent to police detention, the official said.
