Nagpur: In some period when Covid-19 has created a dent to railways earnings, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway has included a feather to its cap by tapping into a fresh product, metallurgical coke, to allow it to make Rs4.8 crore by distributing 10 rakes. The company development unit (BDU) of all Central Railway has included fresh visitors of metallurgical coke in the loading stage at Wardha. “At the speed of Rs48 lakh percent rake, we’ll make Rs4.8 crore by mixing 10 rakes from Uttam Value Steel Limited, Wardha, to Kakinada seaport, a space of 808km,” explained Krishnath Patil, older divisional business director (SrDCM). The very first rake was discharged on Wednesday. This has been achieved by tapping on products such as dolomite, fly ash, car, iron slag, food grains (corn, wheat, maize), cotton husk, sugar, olive oil and cotton bales. ACM (Goods) SG Rao stated,”By April 1 to 30, 2021, we worked 35 rakes by distributing preceding products and generated earnings of Rs11.29 crore. Likewise from May 1 to 23, we worked 25 rakes generating Rs7.50 crore.” This past year, the Central Railway revived’Orange Kisan Rails’ following a gap of over a couple of years.
