Thiruvananthapuram: Paloda Police on Wednesday arrested two men who were allegedly responsible for the deaths of three dogs.
Police identified the defendant as Biju aka Moonga Biju, 45, and Biju alias Bijaju, 40, a population of Paluvalli under the boundaries of the Palode police station.
According to the police, the dogs died after biting explosives was planted by the defendant to hunt forest boar.
The police started the probe on Tuesday based on the information provided by the population of the Kudavanad, who found the carcass of dogs on rubber plantations here.
Among the three dogs found dead, one is a pet dog and the other two get lost.
The three dogs were found with their broken heads turned out after biting explosives.
PALODE STATION HOURS OFFICER INSPECTOR C K Manoj said rubber plantations where the defendant explosives were planted close to the forest next to the river.
The defendant had a previous knowledge that wild boar usually came to the place to drink water, so they planted explosives near the flow to hunt them.
On Monday, a local pet dog died after biting explosives planted by the defendant.
After this, they tried to solve the problem by offering money to dog owners.
Even though they also tried to remove the remaining explosives, they could not find it.
Meanwhile, the locals became angry after two flames were also killed the next day in the same way.
So they reminded the police.
One more person, identified as Santhosh Kumar from Vattappara, was also said to be involved in evil.
Police look for it.
