New Delhi: The experience obtained from traveling exposure to cum-exposure to places such as Brazil and Sweden can stand in the Indian team well when competing in the upcoming AFC AFC Asian Cup, the wing returns Dalima Chhibber.
Continental tournaments are scheduled to be held in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune from January 20 to February 6, and the host country is preparing earnestly under the guidance of Thomas Dennerby’s head coach.
“Many have changed, especially the number of matching exposures that we have played in Brazil, Sweden, Turkey and so on.
Brazil is a big learning curve for us, to see a football culture hub and to understand what really means for everyone there,” Chhibber said to AIFF TV.
He said Dennerby, who had trained in Sweden and his nigeria before taking over the senior Indian team last August, has helped develop mental toughness among the players.
“The coach has given us a lot of confidence.
He gave us Pep talking before every game, and he told us how we were all able, and how much he and the staff believed in all of us.
For me, who gave a lot of confidence to fight him, “He said.
“He has brought a mental toughness in the squad – whether it’s singing, whether it’s running, whether it’s a conditioning, whether it’s speed, whether it’s a technical aspect, or it is a tactical aspect.” We can already focus on every part of the game in detail.
We have been able to highlight that we can improve.
We can already gather together as a team, and improve our game to build the Asian Cup.
“The Indian team will look for a good show in a continental tournament and secure a historic bed at the FIFA World Cup 2023.” Dreams for us are reaching the FIFA World Cup.
So when we went to Brazil to play against Brazil, it was a dream that came true.
But like going to Brazil playing against the teams is the beginning of a dream because we know where we should, “he said.” It’s like a stepping stone.
We realize what world football is like, and what kind of football is at the top level playing in the World Cup and playing the Olympics.
So for us it is a very large learning curve.
