Nagpur: The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has written to Prime Minister Narendra demanding a tax vacation, as well as different sops, to assist them recover losses caused by the outbreak. TAAI said authorities must step in quickly and assist the business survive until matters turn to usual. The letter stated,”Travel agents, tour operators and their workers haven’t even been in a position to perform a company of over 5 percent in comparison with pre-lockdown occasions” It stated the blow was made worse as other existing problems. “Without a regrets in statutory compliances such as PF, ESIC, specialist taxation, GST, income tax, TDS etc., the coming of the new ridiculous tax such as TCS ensures our institutions are made to shut down,” the letter added. TAAI has requested to get a sales tax holiday for the following five decades. “There must be a moratorium for two decades on each loan EMIs to our members and staff. Grant of Rs 10,000/- per month each worker until normalcy resumes,” the letter stated. In addition, it added that the institution wasn’t searching for”alms” and can rather repay this sum of Rs 10,000 a month. “This will be repaid, without any attention to the authorities in payments within 24 weeks or deducted in 15 percent of the wages and paid back into the exchequer. With electronic payments becoming the standard, travel agents state Centre should help them decrease this weight. “Credit card companies banks have been charging between 2 percent to 3.5percent for payments. This has to be decreased to 0.5 percent. Digital India, that was initiated with youpersonally, has lost steam. The drivers are also not accepting electronic payments due greater prices from the banks,” explained TAAI’s letter.
