Tribal students get training in utilizing solar panels

Coimbatore: S Priya, 17, a class XII student from the Kondanoor tribal hamlet near Anaikatti, excited after attending the training program when installing and utilizing solar panels for daily activities for daily activities.

Sunday-length training was carried out by Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
The college has signed a MoU with the Alamo High School District, Texas, USA, about the use and implementation of solar panels for the development of villagers.
The Head of the College Poonguzhali Physics Department said that after a week’s housing training that we had equipped with students to find out what type of solar panel was needed to operate electronic equipment in a house.
Students are trained on electronic components and power supply connections.
In addition, they are also trained to solder solar panels and solar settings on the grid and off grids are also taught.
With his help, students can install solar panels for household articles such as fans and lights other than street lights.
They also learn about the operation of the inverter and how the energy obtained from solar panels can be stored in an inverter also shown in students.
Other students with Sathish Kumar from the Hamlet condanoor said that they gained direct knowledge of solar panels.
He said he would share knowledge about solar panels with villagers to use it because it was offered to tribal people and it would save money spent on the long-term conventional energy.
