Garhwa: Korwa, a very vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) who lives in Garhwa Jharkhand Regency, is on the verge of extinction due to the lack of appropriate education, said Hiraman Korwa, who came to highlight in December, 2020 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him at Mann Ki Baat to compile a Korw dictionary.
Hiraman is a social activist who works to bring awareness among men and women of tribal and adivating communities.
Speaking at a meeting in the Dhurki District of Garhwa District on Tuesday, said Hiraman, “the government has launched several welfare schemes for the development of the tribe.
But due to lack of education, they have not been able to take advantage of its benefits.” In Garhwa, the Korwestian population is around 26,000.
He added, “Some communities still lack their rights due to lack of knowledge.” Hiraman calls tribes to educate their children so they can get better jobs and businesses.
