Mumbai: Leaders in various political parties pay tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the 77th birthday here on Friday.
Maharashtra’s head of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray Garlanded portrait of the location of the Congress at his residence Matoshree in the outskirts of Mumbai and gave the promise of the Sadhbhavana day to those who were present on the occasion.
While paying tribute to Gandhi, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the former Prime Minister had prepared India to face the challenges of the 21st century and delivered the digital revolution.
“The concept of work-from-house in several times becomes only possible only because of the vision of Rajiv Gandhi.
Expanding the telecommunications network and strengthening Pancidayat Raj is some of his achievements.
The day of Sadhbhavna was observed on the occasion it would help create public violence,” said Pawar.
PWD Minister Ashok Chavan offers a flower tribute to Gandhi in Mantralaya, the State Secretariat, and gives a promise of the Sadhbhavna day to resolve all peaceful and constitutional differences and community creation without bias, hatred and violence.
Congress Minister Varsha Gaikwad, K C Padvi and bureaucrats were present on that occasion.
