Trichy: The 29-year-old Banteng Owner is Goring to Die by Male at the Jallikattu event held in Suriyur Village near Trichy on Saturday.
The incident occurred while G Meenchi Sundaram from Srirangam guided his bull towards Vaadvasal, through which the bull entered the arena.
“After completing the bull medical examination, Meenchi Sundaram took him to the arena.
The assistance suddenly attacked the owner, causing a severe injury in his thigh,” said a police officer.
Meenchi Sundaram rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Medical College Hospital (MGMGH) where the doctor examined it and said it died on arrival.
Excessive bleeding is declared the cause of death.
About 400 bulls were registered for the event but only 300 bull tailors were allowed to enter the arena in accordance with the limit of Covid-19.
Tamers Banteng must produce a vaccination certificate and negative RT-PCR report.
The livestock department team is checking the health of the bulls before allowing them to be taken to the arena.
