Trichy: The district government has initially identified 25 Panchayats villages in the five blocks of the rural administration to combine them with Trichy Corporation as a local urban body recently proposed to be expanded.
Panchayat Village is recommended based on the generated annual income, geographical proximity and urbanization parameters.
Villages include MallAtampathu, Marunghandarkurichi, Kambarasampettai, MutharasanAlur, Mekkudi, Kallikudi, Thayanur, Nachikurichi, Somarasampetti, Nagamangalam, Pantayakurichi, Panayakurichi, Gundourvi, Kizhakurichi, Thalakudi, Esanakorai, Appaduri, Pichandarkoil, Madhaverumalkoil and Kootthur.
The president of 25 Panchayats was told to hold an emergency meeting to discuss proposals with members of their respective environments and provide resolutions.
Head of Panchayat believes that they will complete the term without interference and development activities will be accelerated under the direct supervision of senior officials.
