Olympic Committee Trinidad and Tobago said the Sprinter Deon Lendore was killed in the United States at the age of 29.
The US media report said three times Olympian, who hit his country to the 4x400m bronze medal in the London 2012 game and also competed in Rio and Tokyo, involved in a car accident in Texas.
Lendore works as a volunteer trainer at the University of A & M Texas, added reports.
The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee said in a statement that Lendore was “inspiration and motivation”.
“Deon has flown Trinidad flag and Tobago proudly, honor, patriotism, and persistent willingness throughout his career while helping and inspire many people,” the statement added.
Lendore won silver in a 4x400m relay at the 2015 World Championship in Beijing.
He claimed an individual bronze medal in the Indoor World Championship in 2016 and 2018.
