SRINAGAR: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an anti-terror operation in the Achabal region in the Ananthnag District of South Kashmir on Saturday.
One of the three terrorists killed, identified as Arif Hajam, was involved in the murder of the Army Havaldar Manzoor area whitting in June 2019 when he was on leave, Igp (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar was confirmed.
Based on intelligence input, the joint team of the Army, CRPF and police J & K have launched the Cordon-and-search operation in the Kawarigam Achabal Village.
During the search, hiding in terrorists opened fire in security forces, triggering a shootout where the three Lashkar operators were killed, said IGP.
Meanwhile, all entry points and exit that lead to sealed meetings and additional troops are deployed to prevent legal and order problems.
A few days ago, four Ultra Lashkar was killed by security forces in South Kashmir.
Among them, two who were killed in Kulgam planned a terror attack on the National Highway Jammu-Srinagar, said IGP Kumar.
