Chandrapur: Branch of Local Crime (LCB) and Ram Nagar Police arrested three thieves involved in the theft of 76 TOLA (760GM) of gold and RS15 Lakh within 24 hours since the incident.
Sheikh Sadik Trio, the accused, Mahesh Shriramwar and Chetan Telse have penetrated Rajendra Jaiswal’s house and closed with cash and jewelry collectively worth more than RS40 Lakh on Thursday night.
RAM Nagar Police began investigating with the help of LCB after registering this case.
Immediately, they got a clue that the driver of the Jaiswal Sadik sailor car Sheikh escaped from his house.
When the investigation continued, the police knew that Sadik’s close friend, Mahesh Shriramwar was also missing.
The police immediately tracked Shriramwar at Pathhanpura locality and arrested him.
During interrogation, he revealed that he was involved in theft with Sadik and TELSE.
He also revealed that the defendant Sadik had made some stolen cash at the House of Relative Sheikh Navaz in Ghugus.
The police raided Nazaz’s house and won the RS14.16 lakh cash from there.
Arvind Salve police supervisor said two teams were sent after Absconding Sadik and TELSE.
Sadik was arrested from Gadchiroli, while TELSE was arrested from Nagpur.
They seized 76 TOLA GOLD in the form of nine gold rings, gold chains and pendants, gold necklaces, five gold chains and three Mangutras gold.
Apart from the material stolen from Jaiswal’s house, the police also confiscated many silver ornaments and gold bracelets from the defendant.
The confiscated jewelry was worth RS26.20 lakh, said Salve.
