Bengaluru: Three men have been captured by the Magadi road police on charges of theft.
The police also confiscated 333 grams of gold worth 16.6 lakh Rs from them.
The defendant was Venkataramana and Krishnamurthy from Andhra Pradesh and Ramesh from Bagepalli.
The police said Trio worked together after getting to know each other in a bengaluru center prison.
They allegedly stole the gold chain, weighed around 50 grams and worth RS 2.2 Lakh, owned by Akkayaamma, 65, a resident of Jedarahalli in Rajajinagar on October 11, 2021.
Akkayaamma had guarded the chain on his desk and went to take a shower.
He then found it lost.
The police took the case and launched the hunt for thieves.
The three were said to have claimed crime.
The police said the trio was used to get around by bicycle looking for a house that was not locked.
Two of them will enter the house and steal valuables while others are watching.
The police said with this, they had completed eight cases registered in Magadi Road, Vijayanagar, KP Agrahara and Rural Station Channapatna.
