Agartala: Two Delhi-based journalists have been detained by Tripura police after FIR was registered against them for inciting communal tensions.
Journalists identify as – Sammiddhi K Sakunnya and Jha Swarna, presented notice to record their statements.
They have arrived in the state on Thursday to cover communal flares reported.

Then, they went to Fatikroy under the Unokoti district on Saturday where the mosque under construction in the PAL Bazar area was allegedly damaged by Hindu groups, said sources.
According to the police, the Fatikroy police station has registered Sammiddhi and Swarna on Saturday night after specific complaints about inciting local Muslims and forcing them to make a statement against the Hindu Viswa Parisad (VHP) placed by Pal Bazar ‘Slogan Jai Sree Ram on October 23.
Both journalists then leave the district and nest in a hotel at the North Tripura District Head Office Dharmanagar.

Referring to the suspicion of the police, Jha Swarna claimed to be in a series of tweets they spoke to the local residents about the damage to the mosque and shared a copy of FIR which said the rally by VHP.
In other tweets where he described the local population claims related to the right-wing group, which was believed to have triggered violence in the Amravati district in Maharashtra on Saturday.
