Agartala: Tripura Police on Sunday held the leader of the West Bengal Bengal congress Saayoni Ghosh for questioning the complaint by a powerful BJP worker that he had disturbed the meeting of the head of Jalan Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday night, according to an official.
He was detained 24 hours before the visit planned by the TMC National Secretary General Abhishek Banerjee after being summoned to be questioned at the police station.
TMC leaders accused their workers were also grouped by BJP supporters outside the East Agartala Women’s Office.
Banerjee in a tweet accused the BJP government in Tripura bravely ignoring the command of the Supreme Court for the rights of political parties to hold peaceful protests.
“@Bjpbiplab has become very unfamiliar that now even the command of the Supreme Court does not seem to bother him,” Banerjee tweeted.
