Washington: Troika Plus Meeting Participants in Afghanistan, consisting of representatives from Russia, China, USA and Pakistan, held at Islamabad revealed deep concerns about severe humanitarian and economic situations in Afghanistan and requested support “unshakable” for Afghanistan.
According to a shared statement released by the US Department of State, States participated in asking the Taliban to work with Afghans to form an inclusive government that respects all Afghans’ rights including women’s rights and girls to participate in all aspects of the inside All aspects of the Afghan community.
Countries also emphasize that access to education for women and girls at all levels is international obligations and encourage the Taliban to accelerate efforts to provide full access and equivalent to education.
The next statement said that countries asked the Taliban to ensure unobstructed humanitarian access, including by women’s aid workers, to submit humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan to respond to a growing crisis.
Participating countries also emphasize the implementation of unsc-related Afghanistan resolutions that are free of terrorism and drug-related crimes.
The statement was also condemned in the strongest term terrorist attacks recently in Afghanistan and asked the Taliban to cut bonds with all international terrorist groups, dismantle and eliminate them in a decisive manner, and deny space for every terrorist organization operating in the country.
Officials further welcomed the provision of international community humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and expressed great concerns on the potential for economic collapse.
The statement from the US State Department urges the United Nations and special institutions to develop a program to implement the commitment of the international community to support the Afghan community.
The participants also reaffirmed their expectations that the Taliban would fulfill their commitment to prevent the use of Afghanistan by terrorists to neighbors, other countries in the region and around the world.
