Tropical storm ida threat storm to New Orleans

Miami: Tropical Storm Ida has pushed a storm warning for New Orleans and an emergency for the Louisiana state when pushing across the Caribbean towards the initial attack on Cuba Friday.
“Unfortunately, all Louisiana coastlines are currently in cone estimates for tropical storms, which strengthen and can come ashore in Louisiana as a major storm because of conducive bay conditions for fast intensification,” said Gubern John Bel Edwards.
“On Saturday night, everyone must be at the location where they intend to ride a storm.” The governor added.
The US National Storm Center said Ida was expected to cross the western stretch of tobacco as a tropical storm starting Friday afternoon and then rose before reaching the Gulf coast on Sunday night or Monday.
“There is an increase in the risk of living storm waves, damaging the storm, and heavy rain and Monday, especially along the coast of Louisiana,” The Hurricane Center said.
“Ida certainly has the potential to be very bad,” said Brian McNoldy, a storm researcher at the University of Miami.
The storm watch applies to Cameron, Louisiana, to the border of Mississippi-Alabama – including Lake Pontcharrain, Lake Maurepas and Metropolitan New Orleans.
The Mayor of Grand Isle, a Louisiana city on a narrow barrier island in the Gulf, called for voluntary evacuation late Thursday from Ida and said the evacuation must be in effect Friday.
Thursday night Thursday, Ida experienced a maximum wind of 40 mph (65 kph) and traveled to the northwest of around 12 mph (19 kph).
It was centered around 65 miles (105 kilometers) southeast of Grand Cayman and 365 miles (585 kilometers) southeast of the west end of Cuba.
Wind Tropical storm strength is extended as far as 70 miles (110 kilometers) from the center.
The storm is expected to drop from 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 centimeters) rain in several parts of Jamaica, Cuba and Cayman Islands, with more potential in some isolated areas.
The forecast warns of the possibility of floods and landslides and a surge in tidal of 2 to 4 feet above normal, along with “big and destructive waves.” The Cayman Islands government said government offices were not important to close early on Thursday and several shelters opened.
